Explore Your Desires

Every one of us wants something that is not presently experienced. To try to live without desires would be to deny our senses and our creative spirits. You may as well become an ascetic and live on roots and berries, wandering in the wild.

To embrace our spririt of expansion and creation is the fullest expression of our personal divinity. The question turns from "Who am I?" to "What do I want?" which is a much easier question to answer, and leads naturally down a path of personal and spiritual discovery.

The best first step to take on this path is one of love. Love your self in whatever circumstances you find yourself. "Bless this mess" as the saying goes. Look for lessons you have learned, skills you have collected, and people you have known to find ways to appreciate all you have created in the past.

Now you can explore your desires.

All of us have desires. Many of our desires are vague, unfocused longings; weak seeds which have little chance of flowering in our physical experience. To reach their fruition, our deisres must be sharpened, understood, explored, felt, weeded, tended to.

Our desires must also be fueled by some passion, intensity, or a longing for change. This is how we know we have hold of a true desire, and not someone else's expectation or society's directive that we've unwittingly taken on.

You may have trouble identifying a true desire in you. If so, it may be hidden close by. Perhaps something in your immediate circumstances you would like to change. Or a dream you had labeled as "unrealistic" years ago. Allow yourself to consider what you have been denying. Even if it sounds crazy, even if you fear judgement, even if you doubt yourself. No one else has to know.

The process of exploring your desires can work for you on a psychological level and a metaphysical level. You don't have to believe in anything for it to work. You are simply going to become more consciously aware of your thoughts and feelings.

Psychologically you will be enlisting the aid of your subconsious mind, affecting your beliefs, your patterns, and your future behaviors. Metaphysically you will be aligning your vibration &mdash your energy pattern &mdash to your desires so their fulfillment can more easily find you.

Either way, what you focus on expands. Exploring your desires is a focus of attention on things you want to create, causing them to move into your physical experience.

Enjoy the process of exploration, because it is in the journey where we find joy, not just in the destination. There will always be another desire, some new and wonderful frontier of expansion and creation. It is what we are made to do.
